David R. Harrison

David R. Harrison was a New York architect and contractor active in the 1920s who is best known in St. Louis for the Fashion Square Building (1926) on Washington Avenue, which he both designed and built as general contractor. The garment center's owners, Samuel and Rose Pollock, brought Harrison from New York specifically to produce a "special" building distinct from the work of local designers. His other documented St. Louis commissions included single-family houses, apartment buildings, and an automobile showroom. Little else is recorded of his career, and he eventually returned to New York.
