Breckenridge Hills

Breckenridge Hills is a small city in northern St. Louis County, one of the inner-ring municipalities strung along St. Charles Rock Road — the old wagon route to St. Charles that forms its southern edge. It took shape as the county filled in west of the city in the mid-twentieth century, and remains a compact, almost entirely residential community of modest prewar and post-war homes. Its civic landmark is Ritenour High School, the large 1949 building by William B. Ittner, Inc. that serves the surrounding Ritenour district.
